PFA's Found in Northwest Georgia and East Tennessee Drinking Water

There are many people in the Northwest Georgia and Eastern Tennessee who are concerned about the drinking water supply due to the PFA's that have been found in these areas.
If you're not familiar with PFA's they are called "forever chemicals" due to their extremely resistant ability to break down or be removed and have been found to remain in the environment and living organisms for hundreds if not thousands of years According to one source, the World Economic System. You can read more about that here in this link Scientists break down forever chemicals in drinking water | World Economic Forum .
PFA's have been found to stay and accumulate in our bodies and can come from many different sources including soil, air and water. PFA's also have a long list of health issues they can cause including hormone disruptions, thyroid and digestive issues and other health problems.
While it's nearly impossible to keep ourselves protected from every single harmful thing in this world there are many things we can do to help and one of the things we can do to help fight against the PFA's in our water supply is by getting an in-home water filtration system or a Reverse Osmosis system that filters out up to 99% of PFA's, PFO's and VOC's. It's the best way to get the healthiest, cleanest drinking water for you and your family.
While bottled water may protect you from the contaminated drinking water supply, bottled water also has PFA's in it along with microplastics. Many people still prefer bottled water over drinking the tap water mostly because it tastes better but it's really not much better for us.
As far as the PFA's that have been found in Northwest Georgia and Eastern Tennessee there are lawsuits that have been filed against several chemical companies including 3M along with Shaw Industries due to the PFA's that are used in their manufacturing processes. Shaw Industries used PFA's for the fiber in their carpet material to be stain resistant and the wastewater from this manufacturing process then leaked into the water supply after being drained from their facility.
The landfill in Catoosa County has also confirmed Shaw Industries as being the source of the PFA's in the landfill which has now contaminated the ground and source water.
The wastewater treatment facility receives this water and has no way of being able to filter out the PFA's due to the cost of having to filter out so much water at once.
This water then travels upstream into rivers and other water sources including the Tennessee river and makes it's way to the Chattanooga and surrounding areas. Tennessee also has a long history of industrial practices which has used PFA's in the past and high levels of PFA's have been found in the water supply in Eastern Tennessee mostly Northeastern Tennessee. High levels of PFA's were also found in human blood in northwest Georgia areas along with serious health issues linked to the PFA's in the water supply.
Unfortunately we can't prevent a lot of things from happening to our water supply because of all the chemicals companies are using for their products but we can however be prepared and at least protect our own homes and families by getting an in-home water filtration system like a Reverse Osmosis system that goes directly under your sink and filters out 99% of PFA's, PFO's, VOC's along with hard water minerals, sediment and other contaminants. By getting an in-home water filtration system you can have the confidence to know the water you and your family are drinking is clean and healthy, so you don't have to spend any more time worrying if the water you and your family is drinking is harmful.
